Who we are

Proudly serving the gay and lesbian world community, along with their friends and family. Arco Iris Spanish School is gay owned, and operated by a select and highly qualified teaching staff. We have enjoyed eight successful years of providing Spanish language training to international students.

San José is the bustling capital of Costa Rica, and the economic, political and cultural center of the country. The city is set in the middle of the Central Valley and surrounded by magnificent mountains, thus enjoying a year round spring like climate. San José supports a wide and diverse array of cultural events, such as the National Symphony, local and international music and dance performances, theater, and film festivals. Restaurants are abundant and offer plenty of choices, and many of the suburbs now sport modern supermarkets and upscale shopping malls

Gay life in San José is active and relatively open for this predominately Catholic country. While there are many gay nightspots, restaurants, discos, saunas and businesses located in downtown, many others are springing-up in the suburbs. Costa Rica has enacted laws protecting gay rights and businesses, making it the most progressively pro-rights country in Central America.

With the country’s social progress and with the spirit, charm and compassion of its people, this is an ideal place to vacation and study Spanish.
